Bennett Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Program Manager to provide project management support services for the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Science Center in Denver, CO.

 

Job Description:

 

The Program Manager (PM) will manage Bennett Aerospace contract staff to ensure performance is in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS). The PM is responsible for managing all contractual responsibilities and delivery of all contract deliverables including contract management plan, monthly status reports, any project specific deliverables, transition in/ out plan deliverable(s), post award conference/periodic progress meeting(s). The Program Manager will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of tasks. The successful candidate will possess a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Core duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the coordination and completion of information technology projects and operations; to include the development and maintenance of databases, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), computer software, and computer hardware, to include network operations;
  • Oversee all aspects of projects, to include, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress of projects;
  • Ensure adherence to master plans and schedules;
  • Determine staff requirements, priorities, manage workloads, and manage the project office calendars;
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget;
  • Develop solutions to program problems;
  • Build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects;
  • Act as advisor to program teams regarding projects, tasks, and operations;
  • Prepare reports for managers regarding status of project;
  • Manage overall contract performance to include managing budgets, overseeing invoicing, and implementing contract modifications;
  • Aid in the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes;
  • Ensure all deliverables and requirements are met in a timely manner;
  • Coordinate preparation of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial conditions of active contract(s) and future proposals;
  • Develop new business and expand product line; and
  • Performing other duties as assigned from time to time. 

Qualifications

Job Requirements

 

Education and Experience:

  • Require a bachelor's degree, preferably in an IT related discipline.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in management of IT systems and staff, or in a related area.
  • Must be familiar with concepts, practices, and procedures involving cartography, large databases, GIS development and applications, management of IT systems.
  • Must have three (3) years of experience providing oversight of IT project support teams, preferably for a Federal Government client.
  • Must possess strong management and leadership skills; and be able to demonstrate a familiarity with industry best practices.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel is associated with this position (less than 20%).

Abilities and Skills:

  • Exceptionally Strong written and verbal English communication skills;
  • Ability to work with diverse technical and administrative teams from academia, government, and industry;
  • Able to initiate open discussion with internal and external customers to understand and troubleshoot problems; and
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and e-mail software. Expert in spreadsheet development, manipulation, and management. Must be quick learner with new databases, portals, and systems.
