Bennett Aerospace, Inc.  is seeking a highly motivated, Computer Digital Systems Technician. The successful candidate will directly support the US Army at Ft. Bliss in Texas. 

 

The successful candidate will serve as a Computer Digital Systems Technician applying basic knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) concepts, practices, and procedures within the computing environment.  This individual will assist in making the computing environment less vulnerable by correcting flaws and implementing Information Assurance Technology (IAT) controls in the hardware or software installed on individual desktop and laptops. The work includes the ability to document, test, implement, integrate, maintain, research, track, or modify Automatic Data Processing (ADP) objects on the network. ADP objects include, but are not limited to: end-user computer equipment, computer peripherals, printers, servers, including firewall devices, intrusion detection devices, intrusion protection devices, VTC equipment, and all in one scanning and printing devices. A current DOD IAT II rating is required.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • install and operate IT desktops (and equivalent systems and peripherals) in a manner that does not alter the program code or compromise security safeguards;
  • recognize a potential security violation, take appropriate action to report the incident as required by regulation, and mitigate any adverse impact;
  • provide end user IA support for all operating systems, peripherals, and applications;
  • support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software IA problems
  • apply appropriate access controls;
  • implement and monitor IA safeguards for system(s) in accordance with implementation plans and standard operating procedures;
  • comply with system termination procedures and incident reporting requirements related to potential security incidents or actual breaches at a desktop level;
  • implement online warnings to inform users of access rules for systems;
  • implement applicable patches including information assurance IA vulnerability alerts (IAVA), information assurance IA vulnerability bulletins (IAVB), and technical advisories (TA) for desktop operating system(s);
  • implement DoD and DoD Component password policy;
  • implement specific IA security countermeasures at a desktop level
  • obtain and maintain IA certification appropriate to position; and
  • complete other duties as required by Bennett Aerospace.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have experience in IA tech or related field;
  • Must be able to meet deadlines on projects;
  • Must have good English communication and analytical skills;
  • Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain and DOD clearance;
  • Must be able to work independently, be results-oriented, and be well-organized;

Minimum Required Education/Training and experience:

  • Must have a Security+ or Security+ ce certification current within 3 years.
  • Must have Windows 7 certification and hands on administrative experience.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience.
  • Exceptional character and professional references.

Language Skills:      

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations in standard American English;
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:     

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:                                                           

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; and
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Security Restrictions:

  • Must be a US Citizen and have at least a Secret clearance.
