Bennett Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, Computer Digital Systems Technician. The successful candidate will directly support the US Army at Goose Creek in Charleston, SC. 

 

The successful candidate will serve as a Computer Digital Systems Technician applying basic knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) concepts, practices, and procedures within the computing environment.  This individual will assist in making the computing environment less vulnerable by correcting flaws and implementing Information Assurance Technology (IAT) controls in the hardware or software installed on individual desktop and laptops. The work includes the ability to document, test, implement, integrate, maintain, research, track, or modify Automatic Data Processing (ADP) objects on the network. ADP objects include, but are not limited to: end-user computer equipment, computer peripherals, printers, servers, including firewall devices, intrusion detection devices, intrusion protection devices, VTC equipment, and all in one scanning and printing devices. A current DOD IAT II rating is required.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • answer the help desk phones and provide remote and touch labor support to users;
  • deploy new software to user computers;
  • deploy system images to computers;
  • conduct annual hardware refreshes, including maintaining customer data during replacement;
  • set up new users, inclluding both account configuration and initial trainig and orientation, and account creation when neccessary;
  • Maintain a log of all activities in a ticketing system;
  • knowledge and operation of VTC and SVTC systems;
  • knowledge and operation of audio visual and projection systems;
  • install and operate IT desktops (and equivalent systems and peripherals) in a manner that does not alter the program code or compromise security safeguards;
  • recognize a potential security violation, take appropriate action to report the incident as required by regulation, and mitigate any adverse impact;
  • provide end user IA support for all operating systems, peripherals, and applications;
  • support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software IA problems
  • apply appropriate access controls;
  • implement and monitor IA safeguards for system(s) in accordance with implementation plans and standard operating procedures;
  • comply with system termination procedures and incident reporting requirements related to potential security incidents or actual breaches at a desktop level;
  • implement online warnings to inform users of access rules for systems;
  • implement applicable patches including information assurance IA vulnerability alerts (IAVA), information assurance IA vulnerability bulletins (IAVB), and technical advisories (TA) for desktop operating system(s);
  • implement DoD and DoD Component password policy;
  • implement specific IA security countermeasures at a desktop level
  • obtain and maintain IA certification appropriate to position; and
  • complete other duties as required by Bennett Aerospace.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Must have a Security+ or Security+ CE certification current within 3 years.
  • Must have Windows 10 training/certification (SkillPort accepted) and hands on administrative experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience with helpdesk, hardware/software support
  • Exceptional character and professional references.

 

Security Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen due to US Government security requirements;
  • Must have at a minimum a SECRET security clearance.

 

Abilities and Skills:

  • Must have experience in IA tech or related field;
  • Must be able to meet deadlines on projects;
  • Must have excellent interpersonal/communication skills and technical writing skills to provide exceptional customer service;
  • Must have good English communication and analytical skills;
  • Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain and DOD clearance;
  • Must be able to work independently, be results-oriented, and be well-organized;
