Bennett Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, Senior Systems/LAN Administrator (with PM Responsibilities). The successful candidate will directly support the Army Strategic Logistics Activity Charleston (ASLAC) in Goose Creek, SC as well as actively perform as the IT project manager for both ASLAC and AFSB locations which includes a total of ten US locations including Hawaii and Germany. This individual would report directly to the Executive Vice President of Bennett Aerospace Inc.,


The successful candidate will serve as the Senior Systems/LAN Administrator (with PM Responsibilities) at Army Strategic Logistics Activity Charleston in Goose Creek, SC, applying advanced knowledge of IA concepts, practices, and procedures within the computing environment.  This individual must be skilled at assembling, leading and mentoring a skilled technical team in an Army Network Enterprise Center environment that includes network, help desk, and information assurance functions.  Furthermore, this individual would be fully trained and qualified to operate ASLAC switches, firewall, IDS/IPS, servers, and administer ASLAC’s presence on the Army LandWarNet via Active Directory. This individual would be responsible to the ASLAC Government Information Technology Specialist for the overall security and operation of the ASLAC network. This individual would also work closely with, and communicate weekly to the government Contracting Officer Representative(s) (COR).

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Compile and provide the ASLAC and AFSB government contracting officer’s representative (COR) with monthly metrics 100% on time.
  • Be responsible for managing the ASLAC and AFSB Information Support Services Team and meeting all contractual obligations with a 100% success rate.
  • Work closely with Army signal commands to direct the upgrades/migrations of the ASLAC LAN IT infrastructure.
  • Closely monitor the training status of all assigned employees. Under no circumstances should an employee’s CompTIA Security+ CE status be allowed to expire.
  • Communicate immediately any concerns regarding significant changes to the status of PWS (performance work statement).
  • Schedule backfill at any of the various AFSB locations
  • Become trained and experienced in performing network-wide security scanning utilizing authorized DoD vulnerability scanning software.
  • Lead the intensive team effort to assist in ASLAC’s DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP).
  • Examine potential security violations to determine if the security policy has been breached, assess the impact, and preserve evidence;
  • Recommend and schedule IA related repairs in the network environment;
  • Perform IA related customer support functions including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and/or training, in response to customer requirements at the Server or Network level;
  • Analyze patterns of non-compliance and take appropriate administrative or programmatic actions to minimize security risks and insider threats; manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment;
  • Analyze system and network performance for potential security problems;
  • Assess the performance of IA security controls;
  • Identify IA vulnerabilities resulting from a departure from the implementation plan or that were not apparent during testing;
  • Provide leadership and direction to IA operations personnel;
  • Configure, optimize, and test network servers, hubs, routers, and switches to ensure they comply with security policy, procedures, and technical requirements;
  • Install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating systems software and hardware to comply with IA requirements;
  • Evaluate potential IA security risks and take appropriate corrective and recovery action;
  • Ensure that hardware, software, data, and facility resources are archived, sanitized, or disposed of in a manner consistent with system security plans and requirements; and
  • Complete other responsibilities as defined in DoD 8570 IAT II job functions.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be fully qualified in DoD information assurance management and technical functions (Baseline and Computing Environment) per DoD Instruction 8570.01-M (IAT-II).
  • Must have experience in IA tech or related field;
  • Must be able to meet deadlines on projects;
  • Must have good English communication and analytical skills;
  • Must be a US Citizen due to security requirements;
  • Must be able to work independently, be results-oriented, and be well-organized;
  • Exceptional character and professional references.

Minimum Required Education/Training and Experience:

  • An existing DOD IAT II rating is highly preferred.
  • 0-3 years of Systems/LAN Admin experience or equivalent.
  • Deep Cisco switching knowledge is required.
  • Must have Windows Server 2008 administrative experience.


  • Must have a Security+ certification. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred.
  • Windows 7 Certification required.


  • Cisco CCNA certification is highly preferred however the Army SkillPort training is acceptable.
  • MS Windows Server 2008R2 certification preferred, appropriate Army SkillPort certificate acceptable.
  • Must have a Security+ certification. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred.

Language Skills:      

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations in standard American English;
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:     

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:                                                           

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; and
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Security Restrictions:

  • Must be a US Citizen due to US Government security requirements;
  • Must have a DoD SECRET security clearance.
