Bennett Aerospace, Inc. has an opening for a highly motivated Senior Local Area Network (LAN) Administrator. The successful candidate will directly support the US Army community in Charleston (Goose Creek), SC. Bennett Aerospace is a small business federal contractor that specializes in recruiting and managing highly skilled scientists, engineers, and IT professionals for our government customer(s). Bennett Aerospace currently has staff in over 12 time zones from Germany to Hawaii.


Job Description:


The successful candidate will serve as a Senior LAN Administrator applying advanced knowledge of IA concepts, practices, and procedures within the computing environment. This individual Network Administrators control switches, routers, and firewalls and monitor for intrusion and are responsible for the overall security of the network. They will assist and, at times, focus on servers as needed and will use advanced independent judgment for resolution of problems with limited supervision.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:


Core duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned

  • Examine potential security violations to determine if the security policy has been breached, assess the impact, and preserve evidence;
  • Recommend and schedule IA related repairs in the NE;
  • Perform IA related customer support functions including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and/or training, in response to customer requirements at the Server or Network level;
  • Analyze patterns of non-compliance and take appropriate administrative or programmatic actions to minimize security risks and insider threats;
  • Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment;
  • Analyze system and network performance for potential security problems;
  • Assess the performance of IA security controls;
  • Identify IA vulnerabilities resulting from a departure from the implementation plan or that were not apparent during testing;
  • Provide leadership and direction to IA operations personnel;
  • Configure, optimize, and test network servers, hubs, routers, and switches to ensure they comply with security policy, procedures, and technical requirements;
  • Install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating systems software and hardware to comply with IA requirements;
  • Evaluate potential IA security risks and take appropriate corrective and recovery action;
  • Ensure that hardware, software, data, and facility resources are archived, sanitized, or disposed of in a manner consistent with system security plans and requirements; and
  • Complete other responsibilities as defined in DoD 8570 IAT II job functions.


Job Requirements


Education and Experience:

  • Must have a Security+ certification or Security+ Continuing Education (CE) certification current within 3 years.
  • Must have Windows Server administrative experience (MS Server 2008/2012 certification/Skillport required).
  • Certified Cisco Network Associate certification (CCNA)
  • 5+ years of Network Admin experience or equivalent.

Preferred Training and Experience:

  • Experience administering the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
  • Experience administering the client side of the Host Based Security System (HBSS)

Security Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen due to US Government security requirements;
  • Must have at a minimum a SECRET security clearance.

Abilities and Skills:

  • Must have experience in IA tech or related field;
  • Must be able to meet deadlines on projects;
  • Must have good English communication and analytical skills;
  • Must be a US Citizen due to security requirements;
  • Must be able to work independently, be results-oriented, and be well-organized;
  • Exceptional character and professional references.
