Bennett AerospaceInc. has an *immediate* opening for a highly motivated Accounting Clerk II in support of  a Federal Law Enforcement client located in Arlington, VA and the D.C. Metropolitan Area.  The successful candidate will support all professional and technical services to the law enforcement unit.  In addition, the successful candidate will report directly and responsively to the Bennett Aerospace Program Manager on all immediate project work

 

 Job Description:

 

A qualified Accounting Clerk II will perform one or more routine accounting clerical operations, such as: examining, verifying, and correcting accounting transactions to insure completeness and accuracy of data and proper identification of accounts. Completed work is reviewed for accuracy and compliance with procedures.

Responsibilities

Duties may include providing administrative support as follows:

  • Checks that expenditures will not exceed obligations in specified accounts
  • Totals, balances, and reconciles collection vouchers
  • Posts data to transaction sheets where employee identifies proper accounts and items to be posted
  • Codes documents in accordance with a chart of accounts
  • Follows specific and detailed accounting procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Requires knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices as well as particular principles relating to government contract accounting practices and regulations
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • General knowledge of Information Technology systems and Communication tools

 

Abilities and Skills:

  • Must possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Requires ability to read and interpret written information and effectively communicate verbally and in writing where information includes precise information and terminology.
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume, tight deadline environment.
