Job Description:

Bennett AerospaceInc. is seeking a full time Facilities Security Officer/Operations Support Specialist to work in the Bennett Aerospace Corporate office in Cary, NC.   Responsibilities will include processing and managing personnel security clearances; completing visit requests; document control, access control, foreign travel requests, administer security awareness training programs, create subcontractor DD254s, and process adverse information reports. The successful candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced work environment that requires exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to tackle and foresee new issues and challenges. The ability to exercise independent judgment and plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload is required. The ability to anticipate needs and act on them is critical.  Other duties will be to support the Vice President of Operations in the operations of Bennett Aerospace which are outlined below.

Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned

 

FSO Role –

  • Interface directly with program management to address security items specific to each program/contract
  • Present security program as a business enabler
  • Prepare and review DD 254 specific to each program/contract
  • Screen and evaluate candidates using data from the Electronic Questionnaires of Investigation Processing
  • Review and analyze personnel backgrounds and history for clearance, violations, and/or risk assessments
  • Conduct security trainings and evaluate staff processes and procedures for security risks
  • Supervise daily security activities and enforce government and company security policies
  • Perform access control responsibilities including managing CAC cards and visit requests
  • Participate in the development and execution of security education programs
  • Create and update security plans, procedures, and instructions
  • Proficient, industrial-based knowledge of JPAS, e-QIP & ISFD

Operations Support Specialist Role –

  • Provides administrative support to VP of operations
  • Recommends process improvements and implement as approved
  • Develops and documents corporate procedures and processes
  • Prepare operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively
  • Manages ISO program
  • Manages Corporate Safety program.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS and a minimum of 1 years’ experience as an FSO, with a minimum of 2 – 5 years of experience in Federal security experience; and 2 - 5 years of Office Administration experience
  • Complete FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities via the Center for Development of Security Excellence
  • Expert understanding of the NISPOM and associated ISLs
  • Strong typing and data entry skills with ability to type 60wpm.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written), including first-rate spelling and grammar skills.
  • Prior experience at a company that is a Federal Government contractor (DOD preferred).

 Travel Requirements:

  • Attend meetings within the government and clients as needed

 Security Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance if required
  • Current TOP SECRET eligibility reflected in JPAS or have a current SSBI desired

Abilities and Skills:

  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal English communication skills;
  • Able to work with diverse teams and provide quality input and recommendations aimed at improving overall program success; and
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and e-mail software. Expert in spreadsheet development, manipulation, and management. Must be quick learner with new databases, portals, and systems;
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics;
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets required commitments.
