Bennett AerospaceInc. has an *immediate* opening for a highly motivated Network Architect in support of a Federal Law Enforcement client located in Washington, DC.  The successful candidate will provide leadership and management of enterprise-wide Information Technology, to include: IT infrastructure management and consolidation, enterprise applications, IT governance, enterprise architecture, integrated IT service delivery, IT security, and IT service portfolio management.


Job Description:


The Network Architect establishes processes and controls to ensure IT programs and initiatives are integrated to meet established goals and are executed in the most effective and efficient manner. Additionally, this position provides the following:

  • Promotes the effective and efficient design and operation of information resources management processes including improvements to work processes, monitoring the performance of IT projects, evaluating the performance of the project(s) on the basis of the applicable performance measurements, and ensuring alignment of the IT services to support business objectives.
  • Provides system improvement recommendations including opportunities for systems consolidation.
  • Manages technical staff and support the customer’s Enterprise Architecture efforts to better align enterprise systems with the strategic goals and objectives of the IT program.
  • Continuously surveys the IT environment for upcoming requirements, mandates, or technologies that may impact the enterprise systems and he/she shall provide oversight for detailed operational and maintenance, as well as engineering planning diagrams depicting end-to-end infrastructure devices. This includes communication flows throughout the network environment to include, but not limited to, servers, SANS, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and security devices.

Duties may include as follows:

  • Lead the administration and maintenance of IT infrastructure and secure network architectures as directed by government.
  • Provide expertise in cross-domain network solutions and central network monitoring and management.
  • Lead the administration and maintenance of the training and testing laboratory, software, and provide training programs as needed.
  • Provide leadership for the design, implementation, and maintenance of multiple networks and cyber security technologies.
  • Provide leadership and coordination for the purchasing of software, hardware, and other IT equipment as approved by the government.
  • Communicate with the government to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with government project management.
  • Support program operations and be available on a 24-hour on-call.


Job Requirements:


 Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Science, or other relevant discipline AND 10 years’ work experience OR
  • A Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or other relevant discipline AND 7 years’ work experience OR
  • A PhD. In Computer Science, Information Science, or other relevant discipline and 5 years’ work experience

Abilities and Skills:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years specialized experience in CISCO network operations (CISCO certification a plus)

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance or higher (must be a U.S. Citizen)
