Job Description:

 

Bennett Aerospace, Inc. has an *immediate* opening for a full-time Accounting Supervisor to work in the Bennett Aerospace corporate office in Cary, NC. The Accounting Supervisor will be part of the Corporate Accounting Office and will report to the Controller.  Primary responsibilities would include items directly related to Accounts Payable, Expense Reports, General Ledger, Billing and Payroll, Reporting, Audit and Year End support.

Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned:

 

  • Accounts Payable (“A/P”) – create voucher for entry in Costpoint system; timely posting of vouchers and review of voucher distribution reports; weekly check runs; monthly reconciliation of Open A/P to General Ledger (“GL”), if necessary.
  • Expense Reports (“ER”) – ownership of ER process from creation of expense reports to payment, monitoring timeliness of ER submissions, approvals by supervisors and ER voucher processing and payments, in accordance with Bennett’s travel policy.
  • General Ledger – full ownership of month-end close activities; recording of monthly journal entries; reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and maintenance of supporting schedules; assist with other month end procedures.
  • Billing & Payroll – collaborating closely with billing and payroll specialist to ensure all billing and payroll requirements are being met on a timely basis.
  • Reporting – timely preparation of monthly reporting package for management’s use.
  • Audit - assist with annual financial statement, state, federal, and government audits.
  • Assist with Defense Contract Auditing Agency (“DCAA”) annual incurred cost submission and DCAA and government audits.
  • Assist in compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as Cost Accounting Standards (“CAS”), Federal Acquisition Regulation (“FAR”), and other government regulations.
  • Year End: Process 1099s at year-end; update and maintain W-9s for vendors.
  • Other accounting responsibilities - special tasks/projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related discipline preferred
  • Must have 2-3 years in accounting with Deltek Costpoint and Cognos experience
  • Experience in government contracting accounting required
  • Understanding of GAAP and GASB.

Security Requirements:

 

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance if required
  • Must pass a credit and background check
