Job Description:

 

BENNETT AEROSPACE, INC. has an opening for a full-time Director, Human Resources (HR) to work in the Bennett Aerospace corporate office in Cary, NC. 

 

The Director, Human Resources (HR), in the most senior human resource role, this position works closely with Executive Leadership in developing organizational strategies, policies, and initiatives associated with Human Resources for the entire organization.

Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Develops and aligns Human Resources strategies with corporate mission and values, helping to ensure a strong organizational culture.
  • Develops and administers Human Resources and Recruiting budgets.
  • Develops, aligns, communicates, and drives adherence to the Company's Human Resources policies, processes and procedures.
  • Defines, documents, and provides oversight and management of the recruitment, onboarding, and separation processes.
  • Ensures benchmarked total staff compensation is aligned with job descriptions and corporate mission and values.  Develops strategies to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Responsible for plan administration and obtaining competitive employee benefit insurance coverage, to include an Employee Assistance Program (“EAP”).  Reviews annually with outside brokers, making recommendations to Executive Leadership.  Ensures compliance with regulations (annual 5500 filings, non-discrimination testing).
  • Works with legal counsel regarding employee matters and represents Bennett Aerospace in court for employee-related litigation cases, as necessary.
  • Manages employee relations’ and personnel matters.
  • Community Chaplain Liaison.
  • Drives adoption, compliance, and continuous improvement of the performance management and staff development processes.
  • Oversees FMLA, short-term/long-term disability, and personal leaves.
  • Responsible for conformity to all federal and state employment, wage, and hour laws.
  • May have payroll administration responsibilities.
  • May have 401k plan administration duties.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or University;
  • 10 years’ human resources management experience, preferably in a government contracting human resources environment;
  • Any HR certification, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, would be preferred;
  • Government contracting with Service Contract Act of 1964 experience, highly preferred.

Training and Experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of the general principles and practices of Human Resources administration;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and outside contacts at all levels, both in oral and written form;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite a must;
  • Works toward common goals by supporting, encouraging and sharing information with colleagues, both internal and external;
  • Able to multi-task productively; is well organized, using time management processes and procedures effectively;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment;
  • Ability to cooperate with others and remain positive under pressure.

 Security Requirements:

  •  Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance if required
  • Must pass a credit and background check
