    Job Description:

    Bennett Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Business Process Engineer to provide acquisition support services for The Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR). 

    The Business Process Engineer will develop, identify, and translate internal/external business processes, procedures, and policies in accordance with customer requirements. This position will aid in the provision of support services to assist WRAIR with effective and efficient business and procurement processes.


    Core duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

    • Identifying process challenges (reduce variation) and making recommendations to fix issues with stakeholder input and buy in;

    • Translating process requirements to information technology requirements;

    • Analyze and develop internal business and procurement processes, procedures and policies to promote smart business execution and procurement efficiencies;

    • Implementing organizational process changes and their demonstrated impact of those changes working within organizational structure to attain lasting organizational culture change;

    • Documenting and developing training process evolution (SOPs, training materials, etc.);

    • Creation of process design (new developments/ none exist);

    • Production of uniformed process output, reduced flow time, and fast throughput;

    • Manage aspects of projects, to include, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress of projects;

    • Ensure adherence to master plans and schedules;

    • Develop solutions to program problems;

    • Build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the process/ projects;

    • Act as advisor to program teams regarding projects, tasks, and operations, process reports, etc.;

    • Prepare reports for managers regarding status of project/process updates;

    • Ensure all deliverables and requirements are met in a timely manner;

    • Performing other duties as assigned from time to time. 


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • A bachelor’s degree (or higher), with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in Business process or process improvement.

    • Eight or more years’ experience with program/project management.

    • Experience deploying business processes in a similar sized organization.

    • Experience producing uniform process output, reduced flow time, and fast throughput.

    • Fluency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel.

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

     Desired Qualifications:

    • A bachelor’s degree (or higher), with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in business process, process improvement.

    • Project Management Professional certification.

    • Lean Six Sigma Certification

    • Three or more years’ experience with the government contracting process.

    • Experience with oral/written communication in a military environment.

     Travel Requirements:

    •   Some travel may be required. 

     Security Requirements:

    • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance if required.

    Abilities and Skills:

    • Proven leadership abilities.

    • Exceptionally strong written and verbal English communication skills;

    • Must be articulate, adaptable, and able to work with a variety of research professionals in academia, government, and industry;

    • Able to work with diverse teams and provide quality input and recommendations aimed at improving overall program success; and

    • Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and e-mail software. Expert in spreadsheet development, manipulation, and management. Must be quick learner with new databases, portals, and systems;

    • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with difficult topics;

    • Ability to manage difficult situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets required commitments.
