    Bennett AerospaceInc. has an opening for a highly motivated Public Health Analyst in support of a Federal Law Enforcement client located in Arlington, VA.  The successful candidate will support all professional and technical services to the financial resources unit.  In addition, the successful candidate will receive guidance from the government technical lead and report directly and responsively to the Bennett Aerospace Program Manager.


    Job Summary

    The Public Health Analyst will work with minimal direction and will develop or apply mathematical or statistical theory, computational techniques, algorithms, and the latest computer technology to provide usable information to evaluate and synthesize data on drug law enforcement and regulatory programs. The office manages the Agency’s statistical research program operations and responds to inquiries regarding statistical information. The Mathematician/Statistician will apply his/her knowledge in order to remain abreast of current trends in research and policy guidance and to contribute to the development, coordination, and implementation of the Agency’s statistical research agenda.

    Job Responsibilities


    In order to accomplish the required functions associated with this job, the Mathematician/Statistician will perform the duties detailed below:

    • Uses statistical theories and techniques, such as mathematical modeling and computational methods to formulate and solve practical problems in business and government, and in the physical, life, and social sciences;
    • Conducts research, analysis, and program reviews to evaluate existing operations and to provide information regarding the pharmaceutical controlled industry;
    • Reviews statistical reports; validate accuracy and completeness of reports;
    • Reviews, analyzes, and summarizes existing data from disparate sources using trend analysis to detect the diversion of controlled substances;
    • Analyzes computer systems, databases, and applications to evaluate and maximize capabilities and maintain system-wide efficiency and integrity;
    • Recommends improvements to the collection and analysis of statistical data;
    • Uses statistical and database programs (including SAS, Excel, and Access) to prepare data for presentations and reports;
    • Collects, analyzes, and maintains internal data for reference purposes within the office;
    • Applies expertise to analyze/interpret data for possible inclusion and dissemination in technical documentation;
    • Researches methods for analysis of data sets;
    • Adjusts and applies those methods to data sets;
    • Uses scientific judgement and expertise to provide advice and assistance, answering questions, and recommending solutions to problems;
    • Uses computers to analyze relationships among the variables;
    • Solves complex problems by developing models with alternative solutions;
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree  
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in public health, epidemiology or biostatistics
    • Able to work as part of a team or independently with minimal direction
    • Strong research and analytical skills
    • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook), technology systems, and communication tools (Adobe)
    • Strong oral, interpersonal skills
    • Professional demeanor
    • Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
    • Experience performing extensive research utilizing multiple data sources preferred
    • Ability to multi-task; detail oriented; be observant and anticipate operational needs
    • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a variety of situations
    • Must be able to maintain a Secret level clearance and be drug-free
