Job Description:

 

Bennett Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Materials and Manufacturing Researcher located in Aberdeen, MD. The Materials and Manufacturing Researcher will specialize in basic and applied materials research to develop manufacturing science technologies for weapon systems and Soldier equipment. Support tasks are complex and require the application of advanced materials and manufacturing skills in polymers, metals, ceramics, composites, additive, energetics, and bio-inspired materials.

Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct armor materials research for protection systems, to include manned and unmanned systems as well as Soldier protection systems.
  • Conduct materials and concepts research for advanced weapon systems. 
  • Conduct materials and processing research at small and high deformation rates/scales.
  • Conduct multi-scale advanced materials modeling,
  • Recommend courses of action for internal and external Government research collaborations.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and maintain supplies, materials, and equipment for use at laboratories.
  • Present research projects at technical meetings and conferences.
  • Prepare presentations and written documents summarizing efforts in Government format for Form 1 approval (process of instruction provided by COR as GFI). Upon TO COR request, Contractor personnel shall present the information to the ARL staff, universities, private corporations, research institutes, national laboratories, or other Government research centers.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

 

  • Engineering or Physical Science degree with a Bachelor if Science degree with 5 years of experience or a PhD with 0 years of experience.
  • Experience working in a research environment (educational research allowable)
  • Experience in writing proposals, reports, technical program summaries, PowerPoint presentations, and journal publications.

 

Security Requirements:

Security Clearance Level: Secret

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility and suitability requirements.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.
  • Successful Pass of Bennett Aerospace Background Investigation, Drug Screening and Credit Check.
