Overview

Job Description:

Bennett Aerospace, Inc. has an opening for a full-time Staff Accountant to work in the Bennett Aerospace corporate office in Raleigh, NC. 

 

The Staff Accountant will be a part of the Corporate Accounting Office and will report to the Controller.  Primary responsibilities would include items directly related to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, Cash Management, General Ledger and Deltek Costpoint Administration.

Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

Accounts Receivable:

  • Prepare billing packages and work with Bennett Program Management Office to ensure accurate invoicing to the Government customer.
  • Ensure Accounts Receivable collections and prompt payment from the Government customer(s). Monitor Aged receivables and report monthly to PMs.
  • Timely posting of Cash Receipts.
  • Prepare rate adjustment and close-out invoices

General Ledger: 

  • Prepare monthly journal entries. 
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and maintenance of supporting schedules.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly KPIs
  • Assist with other month end procedures.

Accounts Payable: 

  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. 
  • Reviews/Audits employees expense reports for accuracy, coding, and approvals. 
  • Ensure expense reports are uploaded to Costpoint on an accurate and timely basis. 
  • Process vendor payments and respond to all vendor inquiries. 
  • Prepare 1099s at year-end.

 

Other responsibilities include the following: 

  • Costpoint System Administrator. New employee setup, password resets, technical support/training. 
  • Lead and assist with implementation of new Costpoint modules as required.
  • Assist with maintenance and set-up of billing module for contracts.
  • Audit Support (DCAA, Financial Statement, 401k). 
  • Assist with preparation and submission of annual Incurred Cost Submission.
  • Provide support for price and cost analysis on government proposals.
  • Serve as backup support for bi-weekly payroll processing - minimum 1x per quarter. 
  • Ensure accurate financial policies are being conveyed in our employee handbook, create/maintain up to date processes for all AR, AP and CP Admin responsibilities. 
  • Provide information as needed to the Program Management Office and Senior Leadership. 
  • Perform assigned Banking duties including wire transfers as needed. 
  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education and Qualifications:

  • At minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Accounting with minimum 5 years of Accounting specific experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite applications more specifically Advanced MS Excel and Word skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in the federal contracting environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and other government regulations preferred.

Security Requirements:

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility and suitability requirements.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.
  • Successful Pass of Bennett Aerospace Background Investigation, Drug Screening and Credit Check
